Clarets midfielder to join Crewe

Steve Jones will today join his former club Crewe on loan until the end of the season.

The midfielder has struggled to earn a place in the Burnley team under manager Owen Coyle.

"Crewe and Huddersfield have been on for him in the last couple of months but he's been out injured for over two months now," said Coyle.

"He's got a reserve game under his belt now, and he needs games - that's the bottom line.

"The question was does he continue playing reserve games or go and play at a good level with Crewe? So we've decided he can go there on loan until the end of the season.

"Then he'll come back in pre-season, obviously still under contract with ourselves, ready to give his best here."

OWEN COYLE CLAIMS THAT THE REASON HE PLAYS FOR THE RESERVES IS DUE TO THE DRASTIC SHORTAGE OF STRIKERS AT THE CLUB. SO WHY IS STEVE JONES JOINING CREWE ON LOAN? WHERE ARE THE INCOMING LOAN SIGNINGS OWEN COYLE HAD TALKED ABOUT TO HELP WIN THE NEXT SIX MATCHES? UP IN THE CLOUDS WITH THE BURNLEY BLIMP!!!

I for one will not be renewing my season ticket. How can we be letting such a great talent go. A player who gave is all for this club in every game he played. The fans will miss him.

I am glad to see Chesney go to Crewe... Whenever he has played this season, granted not frequently, he hasn't looked interested to me, with very little effort or passion being shown. Hopefully, he will have a good end of season at Gresty, score some goals, take on some fullbacks and regain the desire and hunger, alongwith his undoubted ability!? Then, return to the Turf next season to show what he can do... With Wade on the right, a rejuvenated Chesney on the left, it should provide some excellent service to our strikers, whoever they are going to be?????

When did you last visit the turf? Good luck snowman, you have been a credit to yourself and I for one wish you all the best wherever you go and hope you get yourself a good deal next year! If the other 7/8 players who have started for BFC this season showed half of your desire to play, put half as much effort in as you did and played with that spirit and pride in our colours like you have, we would have been top of the league today!! So THANK YOU JONESEY and you will always be welcome at the turf by the real fans who actually appreciate someone who plays with pride!!

I think some of the other team members could actually do with taking a leaf out of this lads book, although i don't believe he is good enough for this level, his heart to win (same as it was with Graham Branch) was abundently clear and personally i would rather see us in a relegation scrap with players who are not good enough but play with passion, pride and respect of our colours than watching mid-table non-entertaining IN FACT BORING football where HULL CITY actually wanted the ball more !! GET IT SORTED COYLE!!

What is the point bringing in any loan signings now? We are not going to get in the play-offs this season; so we would just be paying silly wages.

We have a squad capable of playing the last 6 games and maybe win a couple of games before season finishes. The summer is the time Owen will need to bring players in and ship a few out.
