THESE scouts decided to stride out to mark the Easter holidays in 1962.
They spent the bank holiday weekend, which was late that year and not celebrated until the end of April, on a hike.
Pictured here enjoying a well earned rest from their labours are, from the left, 15-year-old David Shepherd; senior scout leader Jack Carter; and Peter Sellers, who belonged to the 3rd Brierfield (St Luke’s) Scout troop.
