What will happen to old college?

THE new Bolton College looks very impressive and can only bring prestige to the town and benefits to the students.

I wonder, however, what will happen to the Manchester Road building. I only hope it will not share the fate of the Odeon site and end up being demolished and then stand derelict and weed-strewn for years until the economy improves and someone can develop it.

Surely it would make very good, low-cost student accommodation (halls of residence) for the university.

If large, empty mills can be converted to luxury apartments, could this building not be converted to provide rooms or flats for young people?

It is within walking distance of the university campus, too.

Renting out this accommodation would provide revenue for the council. It is such a good building, it seems a pity to leave it empty and decaying, or to knock it down.
