BERNARD HOLDEN On Wednesday, August 5, 2012, Bernard aged 59 years. The much loved dad of Jessica and Gemma, dearly loved brother of Tom, David, Stephen, Chris, Philip and the late Gerard, loving god father of Philip and Melonie, a dear brother in law and uncle and also a good friend to many. A church service will be held at Sacred Heart R.C. Church on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 12:00 noon, prior to a cremation at Pleasington. Reposing in the Chapel of Rest, Broomfield Place, Witton. Family flowers only, or if desired donations may be made in memory of Bernard to M.I.N.D c/o The Alty Funeral Service. - 29/08/12 bernard.hargreaves says I have been thinking a lot about Bernie (Holden) and his tragic death, before and particularly after I left England a couple of weeks ago and headed back to California (August 20, 2012). He was a great friend and a very special person to me and many others, when we were growing up in Blackburn and hanging around in the Alexander Hotel almost every night of the week. Happy Days! Over the years, I went on at least half a dozen holidays with him, both in England and Europe. Bernie (Holden) was a great friend, to me and many others, and I will miss him dearly as the years go by. I have many funny and magical moments to remember and cherish. God Bless you Bernie (and your brother Ged).
