JOHN FIRTH On 16th February 2017, peacefully in hospital. John aged 78 years. Beloved husband of the late Geraldine, much loved dad of Clair, dear father-in-law of Mark also dearly loved grandad of Jake, Megane and Catherine. Funeral service at Pleasington Crematorium on Monday, 27th February at 10.45 a.m. Family flowers only please, but if desired donations may be sent for the East Lancashire Hospice or the British Heart Foundation. c/o Ainsworth’s Funeral Service, Church Bank Street, Darwen. John was a character. I had the pleasure of working with him and sharing many good times with him. Our weekly trips to the swimming baths were always a pleasure and the stories told on the journeys there always made me smile. My last chat with John was whilst he was working on his allotment, one of his favourite past-times. I have very fond memories of John and I was truly saddened to hear this news. My thoughts are with all the family at this sad time.
